It has to be tough for Cleveland Indians fans who tune in to tonight's World Series match up between Cliff Lee and CC Sabathia. The former teammates were close when they played together and Lee helped CC blossom into the stud he is today.
“I got to see him develop from a young pitcher that would borderline get mad and throw the ball as hard as he could to a guy that nothing fazed him and he was totally in control of the game,’’ Lee said. “I’d like to think I had something to do with that, kind of as far as helping him out here and there.’’
But it wasn't a one-way street. They helped each other. [video below]
"I think we made each other better," Lee said. "We helped each other out as far as how we thought we should approach certain teams and just what's the best frame of mind to have on the mound and stuff."
And tonight they're going to do their best to ensure the other one loses.
