Well this is a shocker. Rumors from the Baseball Winter Meetings are that big time and big bellied pitcher CC Sabathia has officially said 'No!" to the New York Yankees mega $140,000,000 offer. And the rumors are that he is very close to joining the San Francisco Giants. Seriously. Follow the link to give your opinion or hear the updates at InGameNow.

But At What Cost?

This morning, the Yankees bitch slapped the Mets by throwing out an insane figure to reel in the whale. CC Sabathia, perhaps last years most dominant pitcher, has agreed to a 7 year, $161 million dollar contract with New York (A), one day after New York (B) signed K-Rod, the most dominant closer last year in baseball, to a 3 year, $37 million dollar deal to help out the hapless bullpen...

Breaking News: Sabathia Agrees To Deal With Yankees

ESPN is reporting that the New York Yankees have agreed in principal to a deal with coveted pitcher CC Sabathia. The deal will make Sabathia the league's richest pitcher as it is a six year deal worth $160 million, which is $20 million more than what was previously being reported. This comes as a surprise as over the past month it began looking more and more likely that Sabathia...

Cashman Heading To SF

According to the Hot Stove Blog, Yankees GM Brian Cashman got on a flight to San Francisco to meet with CC Sabathia, suggesting that a deal could be close. This is the third meeting in three days for the Yankees and Sabathia, with no concrete deadline set for the six year, 140 million dollar deal.A Word around the meetings is that Brewers GM Doug Melvin did not increase his offer...

A Quick Look at CC

Here's a quickA look at new Yankee aces CC Sabathia's vital stats, courtesy of Lee Sinins Complete Baseball Encyclopedia. CC Sabathia is 2nd in the majors in RSAA over the past 3 years. Runs Saved Above Average is a?" to me a?" the single most important stat to judge a pitcher by. The formula is RA/IP [...]

C.C Sabathia’s Nice, But…

So the Yankees have all but inked this year's top free-agent C.C. Sabathia, to seven-year $161 million contract. As a fan of a team that could never dream of dishing out that kind of dough, there's absolutely part of me that cringes at the thought of Sabathia taking his king's ransom to ply his trade [...]

Cashman’s on the way to Cali

According to NY Newsday, Yankees GM Brian Cashman has left the Winter Meetings to fly to California to meet with CC Sabathia again, as well as his wife Amber. CC Sabathia's agent Greg Genske had a very good day today. On top of the large commission he is about to receive from the $160 million dollar contract, Genske orchestrated a fantastic contract for his most high profile client. The best part of this contract for Sabathia is the opt out clause ...

“Amber Alert” Helped Seal the Deal

When I'm wrong, I admit it. I didn't think there was a chance in hell that the Yankees would sign CC Sabathia. I truly felt that he was playing the Yankees to get a contract with a west coast team. But, I was wrong, and I admit it! In the end, Brian Cashman was able to [...]

What If the Yankees Don't Sign CC Sabathia?

It's the question that nobody wants to ask. With Yankee Land seemingly revolving around the gigantic left handed planet known as CC, we should take into thought what would happen should Sabathia spurn the Yankees $140 million dollar offer and sign elsewhere. I shutter to think.Would the world end?I suppose not. But I think some sort of mass hysteria would ensue in Yankee-ville. Fans...
