Eli's MLB Rumors:
According to Ken Rosenthal, the Giants have signed lefty reliever Jeremy Affeldt to a two year deal worth 8 million dollars. Affeldt was 1-1 last season with a 3.33 ERA, a year after going 4-3 with a 3.51 ERA for the Rockies. The Giants hope Affeldt will "bridge the gap" between their starting pitchers and their closer, a spot in the bullpen that really hurt the Giants last season. The Cardinals were reportedly pursuing Affeldt, as well as the Tigers and Mets. We can now expect Will Ohman to receive the exact same deal as Affeldt, or better, considering Ohman was much more dominant versus lefties.
