Jason...he called every phillies game for the last 37 years. So yes he called the game against the Braves. But he probably wasn't on MLB extra innings. And no he doesnt breathe hard during his telecasts. He's the greatest of all time. RIP HARRY KALAS. I've never listened to the phils games without hearing harrys voice and its gonna be a different feeling watching the games without him. Lord knows Tom McCarthy isn't gonna fill his shoes.

  • JASON323_310
I find it funny that seven people gave me the Thumbs Down.. I wasn't trying to be funny or nothing like that, I was just asking a question. I have MLB extra innings and it was my first time ever seeing a Phillies game and the Broadcaster was breathing hella hard. LOL.. I just wanna know if it was indeed Kalas?
    • pearljam134
If you ever watch NFL films, the deep throaty voice that they used was Harry Kalas. I couldn't tell you because we watch it local, and every game was Harry Kalas. He never really breathed heavy but he had a voice that was baseball. If you've ever heard a clip of a guy saying It's Outta Here! It was probably him, or someone copying him. His voice was truly unique... If you had heard it he sounded like no one else. It fits that it's a rainy day in Philly today.

This is a very sad time for the Phillies and their fans. For 35 years I listened to Harry call the games and yesterday I listened with a heavy heart. Phillies broadcasts will never be the same. We love you Harry and will miss you deeply. You can now sing High Hopes in heaven with your old pal Whitey.

This is a sad time for all Phillies fans, and fans of baseball. Watching that game yestersay was very hard because I found out very, very, early. A friend who works at G.W. called me at 1:40 and I could not believe it. I met Harry Kalas when I was 12 years old because we were playing his sons baseball team and he was a guest annoucer. Listening to him on all the Phillies games since the year I was born, 1971, that has a special place also. He had that soothing call for the game and all of a sudden you hear the crack of the bat "SWING AND A LONG DRIVE.....OUTTA HERE!!!!" You know right now he is up there with his best friend Richie Asburn calling the rest of the season on their way to a back to back Championship. GO PHILLIES and Win this one for Harry!! We will always love you and your family, the Phillies are in ALL of our prayers
