As a New York Yankee fan, there is only one good thing I can say about the Yankees' decision to add LaTroy Hawkins to their bullpen. Thank God Hawkins is reportedly only getting a one-year contract ($3.75M) from the Yankees!

  • whats so bad about hawkins on the yankees?
hes not so bad and plus the yankees need bullpen help
sure his fastball can be flat sometimes and become long balls, but the yankees pitching coach could work with him and he can possibly become a great 7th inning man for the yankees in the 08 season
  • Hawkins has been around for 13 years. You think he's going to improve now? Even when Hawkins was good with the Twins several years ago, he would go all Kyle Farnsworth in real pressure spots. He's decent, I guess, and the fact that he is signing for one year makes this acceptable. But, if you think he can do what Joba did in the 7th & 8th innings that is not gonna happen.

Cash Hits Jackpot, Omar Fails to Play the Slots

Over the past couple of seasons, the approach of the Mets and Yankees to the slotting system has represented opposite sides of the spectrum.
