Gagne is starting the year on the DL. But you knew that would happen in December. If you didnt back up Gagne with Otsuka in your fantasy league, shame on you. The Rangers are claiming that Gagne is not hurt but they just want to get him some more work. Thats a good idea since his fastball was about equal in speed to Tim Wakefield's this spring.

  • Silly rabbit, Gagnes are for fantasy chumps.
  • I don't know much about baseball, but isn't Eric Gagne pretty much done? He won't ever return to that dominant form he had with the Dodgers.
  • We in Los Angeles heard several times how Gagne was back to his old self, and guess what, he never was. All the "everything is fine" comments originated from him and were gleefully passed to the masses via the Dodger front office. I am not calling him a liar, but I would agree with the characterization of Gagne as an unrealistic optimist.

Now Texas, different club, different day, same crap. Remember people - this man had a nerve - a nerve!!! - removed from his pitching forearm. Generally speaking, humans have a need for every nerve in their bodies - there ain't many left over parts floating around in you or me, or Eric Gagne, and last I checked, all the components of your pitching arm were pretty important if you were a pitcher.

Had him in 2005. Still bitter. I will not be drafting Gagne now or likely ever again. Caveat emptor.
  • I would call Gagne a liar. The man always "feels great." How can that be?

Gagne to Begin Season on DL

The glass slipper hasn't fit for Eric Gagne yet, and Akinori Otsuka owners are grinning. For Gagne owners, you have to keep your lips zipped. This could be a blessing in disguise, as the Rangers are intelligently giving Gagne more time to fully prepare for the season. This isn't a health setback?or is it? The AP reports: "The move will be retroactive to Wednesday...
