Roy Oswalt is just one of many players on my fantasy roster who has been a colassal disappointment through the first 2 months of the season. In his case he's pitched to a poor 4.62 ERA and has only 1 victory, and to make a long story short drafting him cost me Zack Greinke (Idiot!). Deducing why he has won just 1 game is simple, he's got a weak ERA and its not like the Astros are a powerhouse offense. Well that's what you would think. Of all the pitchers with a minimum of 60 innings thrown, Roy Oswalt is currently ranked 10th best in team run support. So what the hell gives? First, in Oswalt's lone victory the Astros scored at total of 12 runs. Secondly, the two games Oswalt actually pitched well coincided with the two games that the offense provided no run support. In the only outing in which Oswalt did not allow a run, Ramon Hernandez hit a walk off two run homer. In the only game Oswalt gave up a total of 1 run, the Astros didn't were stifled for 1 run ...

Yahoo has Zack Greinke listed as "cold" in their hot/cold fantasy baseball players right now.

Zack Greinke Will Outpitch, Outquote You

One of the most underrated stories this baseball season is the dominance of Kansas City Royals pitcher Zack Greinke. Sure, it was the subject of a great JoePo SPORTS ILLUSTRATED cover piece so it’s not exactly a story that’s been ignored. That said, you have to admit that if Greinke-Dink was pitching in a major [...]

Phightin Phils Phorum - Myers Set for Surgery, Likely Out for Season

Brett Myers got his second opinion today. It was the same as the first. He needs surgery. Brett had said if there was no chance for further damage he would try to pitch but that is not the case either. With that in mind, Myers will have the hip surgery and may very well miss the rest of the season.Trade rumors and speculation to replace Myers is in full swing. Phightin' Phils...

A 2-year-old Pujols, plus this season's first in the That Guy Series

You're owed an MGD update, but, honestly, the numbers outside Zack Greinke are a little sad. We'll get back to that next week, and in the meantime, I'll be wondering -- again -- if we should switch out Davies for Bannister. Bannister's rise from Omaha's opening day starter -- in effect, Kansas City's No. 6 -- to the Royals' best starting pitcher* has been...

Rosenthal: Phils Will Add Big-Name Starter

Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports Ruben Amaro Jr. is in the market for one elite-level starting pitcher, whom he would like to acquire at or around the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline. Rosenthal names Erik Bedard and Roy Oswalt as possible targets, denying a mid- to low-level name such as Brad Penny.

PITCHERS AND CATCHERS! PITCHERS AND CATCHERS!

I just saw a glimpse on the news of all the boys showing up today in Fort Lauderdale. Woo hoo Spring Training! I saw Matt Weiters and Ramon Hernandez and Daniel Cabrera and some boys I don't quite recognize! And Ramon Hernandez looked, dare I say it, not fat? Yeah, this is going to be a long year, ...

Hard Luck

You probably know that Johan Santana is 7-2 this year … and he gave up zero earned runs in both of his losses. Zack Greinke’s remarkable season* includes an 8-1 record — and that one loss was 1-0 to Anaheim. Cliff Lee is 2-5 despite a 3.04 ERA — he has lost three quality starts [...]
