How Can You Save a 27 Run Lead?

Wes Littleton recorded a save in the 30-3 victory. How is this possible? Doesn't this rule need to be changed?

You can, but isn't this weird? It's the first thing I noticed when I looked at the boxscore. How did Littleton get a save? Then I saw his line. That was crazier than the 30 runs to me.

What was the score when Littleton first entered the game. If it was within three runs or if the batter could made the score within three runs with one swing it's still a save situation, no matter what the score was at the end of the game.

The score was 14-3 when he entered the game. I believe he received a save because he pitched the last three innings of the game. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Talk about a cushy job.

it was the three innings of work that got him the save.
