If Alex Rodriguez was looking to distract attention from his personal life, it seems he succeeded in Toronto at least. With the Yankees holding an 8-5 advantage in the top of the ninth last night, Jorge Posada hit a routine pop-up to Jays third baseman Howie Clark that would've ended the inning. But with the ball in the air and A-Rod on the base paths, the Yankees slugger yelled something toward the Toronto infielders that prompted Clark to back off at the last second with the expectation that shortstop John McDonald had called the ball. Rodriguez maintains that he simply yelled out, "Hah!" The Jays claim that A-Rod yelled out "Mine!" Either way, the ball dropped for an RBI single and the Yanks won the game 10-5, ending their five-game losing streak. Not surprisingly, the Blue Jays were incensed, and McDonald had to be separated from A-Rod by the umpire. Afterwards, Rodriguez could be seen standing on third with a smirk.

A-Rod is a Tad Bush League

Video from A-Rod's bush league play running the bases last night against the Blue Jays.

Arod Goes Bush League

HAHAHAHAHA. Come on if you've played baseball and have never had to either deal with someone screaming I got it while running by you, or never done it yourself then you obviously don't play in fun leagues. And sadly enough the Yankees really needed that just so that they could put themselves up by enough runs so they couldn't choke away the lead.

A-Rod pisses off the Jays - Mine!

A-Rod yells "mine!" when on the base paths and creates an un-roar in Toronto during the process.

A-Rod Not the Only Playboy In New York

Move over, A-Rod. There's a new party animal in town. Apparently the New York Mets allow fans to rent Mr. Met for various parties and special events. So naturally a group of Mets fans decided to take the lovable mascot out for an evening of bar-hopping to celebrate their buddy's birthday. Not exactly an Earth-shattering story, I know, but only slightly less news-worthy...

Stray-Rod Unlikely To Be Stay-Rod

"In my mind it's over," the Bergen Record's Bob Klapisch quotes a Yankee official as saying. "It's not just him leaving; now you have to wonder how many free agents are going to have second thoughts about coming here. After this, who knows." At one point, popular opinion was that such a move would expose A-Rod's yellow belly and cement the legacy...

Positional Preview: Catcher

Spring training is less than five weeks away and it's time to start preparing for the new season by looking at each position on a league wide basis, we begin today with catchers. Depending on whether you use runs created or on-base plus slugging as your end all metric either Jorge Posada or Victor M...

Yankees | Posada cleared for defensive duties

Bryan Hoch, of MLB.com, reports New York Yankees C Jorge Posada (lat) has been cleared for defensive duties. Posada had been bothered on his throws by some soreness in the lat muscle behind his right shoulder. If it was the regular season, Posada likely would not have missed any time.

Splitsville For She-Rod And Stray-Rod?

While many fans and observers were indignant at the New York Post's invasion of Alex Rodriguez's privacy in yesterday's photo exclusive, at least one person thinks the story was significant: His wife. According to the Daily News, Cynthia Rodriguez was seen "brusquely" leaving the couple's Park Avenue apartment last night with a pair of suitcases in hand...

A-Rod Finds Ally In Bonds

Yesterday, reporters asked Barry Bonds whether he felt Alex Rodriguez's vocal turn around third Wednesday night was a "dirty" or "bush" play. "Go ask Alex. Leave me out of it," the slugger replied in typical brusque fashion. When told that the Blue Jays were fuming over the play, Bonds replied, "Too bad. Get over it." I guess you could...

Lupica: Two-Faced A-Joke Not a Winner

It's gang-up on A-Rod day. Says the Daily News' Mike Lupica: "The real face of the Yankees is Alex Rodriguez now. Yankee fans still want to believe, we all want to believe, that it is the old guard, starting with Derek Jeter. It is not. Jeter and Jorge Posada and Mariano Rivera, they are what the Yankees used to be. A-Rod is what they have become."

Most Valuable Possession

The Yankees lost today. We all know that. It's frustrating, as any loss is, especially when had just a couple things here or there gone differently, the Yankees could have easily won. It's more frustrating when Derek Jeter's hurt, and Jorge Posada might end up on the DL.Even so, even g...

Was WBC Worth it for Cervelli?

Francisco Cervelli is a defensive catcher mostly known for getting his arm broken when he was bowled over by a member of the Tampa Bay Rays last spring training. He’s also one of the next in line to get called up if the Yankees need to carry three catchers if Jorge Posada’s shoulder isn’t healthy enough [...]

Posada To Catch On Sunday

According to Kat O'Brien, Jorge Posada will catch for the first time this spring this Sunday against the Twins. She also menitons that Joe Girardi said Posada is throwing the ball as well as he's seen.It seems that barring any setbacks Jorge should be ready by opening day. Two and a half weeks behind the plate should be enough to get into shape for the regular season, shouldn't it?

Casting Major League 4 With MLB Players

We're in the middle of spring training and the WBC is just not filling the void for me. So while we wait, let's cast MLB players in roles for the hypothetical movie, Major League 4. Yeah I know, the regular season can't come soon enough.
