  • I think your view of Sal Fasano is right on the mark. He is what he is, a back up catcher and a good club house guy. I enjoyed getting to know him a little bit when he played here in Salt Lake several seasons ago. The Indians would be smart to sign him to a minor league contract and stash him at AAA. There is likely going to be a need for him later in the season.

It is a tough call on whether the Indians should sign Mark Grudzielanek. In my view the window is open for the Indians to win the AL Central in 2009 and all of their off season moves should be centered around that. Grudzielanek still has good baseball left in him. He is true professional and would be a good fit in Cleveland. Problem is, he might want a multi-year deal and that make signing him a tough chore.

I enjoy reading your blog. Intelligent hot-stove conversation is always good. Keep up the good work.
