Is Cole Hamels An "Ace"

You have to realize that Hamels is still young and is only 23 innings shy of reaching a career high in innings pitched. He still has some adjustments to make in terms of dealing with a full major league season. Also, as you noted, his run support is awful. Kind of hard to blame his teammates since most nights he can go out there and limit a team to 0-2 runs and pick up the win...only problem is they've failed to score at least 3 runs in 5 of his starts. 3 of his losses...1-0, 2-0, 3-2 and 2 ND's 1-0 (win), 3-2. Had he gotten at least 3 runs in 4 of those games (4 in the other) we'd be looking at a guy with a 14-4 record.

I will agree that he has been off his game in his last 2 starts, but I doubt its anything to be concerned about. They just have make sure he stays rested and healthy. He will be a dominant force in this leage for at least the next 10-12 years easy.

mabey he is injured and he is not telling anybody, mabey some soreness in his throwing arm who knows

Not reporting an injury right now would be disastrous. If that were the case, you would think that two consecutive poor outings might convince him he needs to do something about it.
