JD Drew has gotten the distinction of being named the AL's Player Of The Month for June. In 26 games, Drew hit .337 (31-for-92) with 12 HR and 29 RBI. He also had an MLB-best .848 slugging percentage.

On a side note, when I type in JD Drew when posting an article, it gives me JD Drew, St. Louis Cardinals. So if anyone was wondering why this is under Cardinals, that's why.

The first-place Pawtucket Red Sox will be sending five players to this year's International League All-Star Game. The game will take place on July 16th in Louisville, KY and this is the first time ever that the Triple-A PawSox have had more than three All-Stars in a season. Impressive.

The Mets had a scare last night against the Cardinals when hard-luck relief pitcher Duaner Sanchez took a line drive off his left knee. With two outs in the eighth inning, Yadier Molinahit a come-backer that ricocheted off Sanchez's knee toward third base. David Wright fielded the ball, retiring Molina at first, while Sanchez, unable to get up, laid on the ground in pain.

Mike Timlin is going to join the team at Yankee Stadium today and be activated off the disabled-list. Timlin rocked a 7.06 ERA in 21.2 innings pitched so far this year until he was shelved with tendinitis in his knee on June 17th. Chris Smith is the odd man out and will be sent back to Pawtucket to make room for Mike.
