PLAYERS: Ichiro Suzuki
If you watched the game, you know it was an October-worthy classic in March. Japan knocked off South Korea in extra innings, saved by Ichiro Suzuki, the Jesus of their baseball chapel himself. But, there's a bigger question worth asking here: if a wonderful tournament has been met with mostly apathy in the US, does it really matter?

This is like the Olympics, just a senseless injury risk for the sake of winning something no one would miss if it never happened again. F**k the WBC. Stooooopid.

Let's not play the role of ugly Americans because the USA lost. I thought it was some pretty good baseball being played.

Congratulations Japan. But to be honest, you had me with the electronics, hybrids and sushi.

I watched it... between sets in the gym because it was on one of the TVs there. How much did it cost to have the golden arches on the Japanese helmets???

  • I wonder how they would do against our MLB world series winner. That's a true test. Play against a TEAM who allways plays together, like them.
  • I am in favor of expanding the sport globely. This way people in each country can root for their own team.
I also like the way the Asian teams played the game.

nope. i'm glad to see other countries getting so into it. but our american players have WAY too much to consider as far as their professional careers are considered to ever take this seriously enough to win. if the americans played as hard as they could, it wouldn't even be a contest
