Joba Chamberlain continues to disgrace the game of baseball

Joba Chamerblain, looking trim and somehow donning a Red Sox uniform, takes flight and goes absolutely ape after closing it out against the Royals last night....

Joba Chamberlain, somehow playing for the Red Sox, takes his celebration antics to a new level....

Oh, I see what you did there. You compared Papelbon's reaction to Chamberlain. I GET IT HAHAHA.

No but really, Chamberlain struck out a guy with a 3 run lead and the bases empty whereas Papelbon had the bases juiced and a 1 run lead.

But you're right, it's totally the same thing. Ace reporting there jack.

First of all, this talk on Joba's celebrations began this season before the Deulucci strikeout.

And secondly, who cares, the argument (at least from the writers and sports radio) is that Joba shouldn't be showing up hitters, and that's totally fine to have that opinion. But if you're going to take that stance, call out everyone else who does it too.

The talk started because he was doing it in almost every situation. Nobody said a thing about it until he started doing it in non-pressure situations.

The same arguments apply that everyone was using last time (and even last year, when people cared but it didn't garner front page news because more important things were going on like the playoff race) he did it: "Its the 8th inning, not the 9th." "He hasn't won anything big yet in his career." etc etc.

True, but in the words of the great Theo Epstein, saves occur as often early in the game as they do in the ninth. But then, he abandoned that philosophy pretty quickly.

Closer by committee worked like crap in 03 and would have done the same with Pineiro and company if Papelbon had started instead of closed. I'm glad he gave up on that "philosophy."

Call out everyone else who celebrates after striking out a guy with nobody on base in the 8th inning?

Done.

Right....

Zumaya was doing it in the 8th inning before Joba was even a member of the Yankee organization.

Brilliant!!!! How bout those Red Sox ! Sox addict ! "Why do you think Masterson struggled after he went down the last time?" He's got some nasty stuff!

Until Manny Ramirez gets called out for his constant showboating at the plate, I can't hear a word you say about Joba, Sox fan. I don't give a rat's ass about situation, player accomplishments, or any other hypocritical argument. Either hate or don't.

Nice. I can't stand to see that kid show up players. I could have sworn I saw Joba over in Chicago pitching for the Cubs too doing the same shit. Everyone was calling him Carlos Zambrano though...

Nice comparison Alan. As accurate as you can get. Cubs fans may be stuck with Zambrano but that goat should have been let in. As long as that boob Piniella is running the show in Chicago hope the Drubs continue to disgrace their city.

I HATE THE CUBS!!!!

Haha. I don't. I feel a sort of empathy for them. I remember exactly what it feels like to have your grandfather tell you how he's watched his favorite team for 70 years and never seen a championship. Same with father, and then you feel like the cycle is starting over again with yourself. It's a shit feeling.

I hope they win one, but only if we're out of the running ;X

Dude, what's wrong with some emotion? I don't see a problem with it. I didn't know these multi-millionaire athletes were so sensitive.
