Found August 06, 2008 on Lansdowne 9:
Maybe it's just a coincidence that Joba Chamberlain was recently placed on the DL due to right shoulder tendinitis ? maybe this was simply a foregone conclusion. The fact of the matter is the Yankees ownership wanted the fireballer to be a starting pitcher, so they quickly tried to groom the reliever to try to handle a starting pitchers workload. The Steinbrenners raised eyebrows as many felt Joba's best role was the setup man in New York. We now know Joba's rush to the starting rotation was a foreshadowing of what was to come ? a visit to Dr. James Andrews. Anybody in baseball knows that visiting with Dr. Andrews raises much concern for a pitchers future. [...]

Joba Chamberlain Injures His Shoulder Due to Aggressive Pre Game Yoga

Joba injured himself tonight during the Yankees collapse against the Rangers.... So much for those ultra strict Joba Rules that were supposed to limit Joba's innings and pre game yoga exercises.

Joba Chamberlain Injures Shoulder During Yankees / Rangers Game

The worst has arrived for the New York Yankees... they seem to have overworked young stud Joba Chamberlain and neglected the Joba rules - a strict inning guideline for the youngster. But the Joba Rules also strictly forbid active pre-game yoga. InGameNow cameras clipped the following pre game 'stretching' that strained ...

Whose fault is this mess?

New York Yankees fans know by now that prized youngster Joba Chamberlain has been placed on the disabled list with what the team is calling "rotator cuff tendinitis." Peter Abraham of the Journal News points out that the Yankees aren't always forthcoming with bad news, and wonders if Chamberlain's injury is more severe than they are [...]

Sports Center Fights Are Always Fun

Forget the Brewers tussling in the dugout last night, this was much more entertaining. One of my favorite things to watch on Sports Center is when an anchor or analyst starts to get frustrated. Most shy away and let the topic pass, but Brian Kenny refuses to ever back down. Here is Kenny arguing with Steve Phillips during last night's Sports Center about Joba Chamberlain being...

Perspectives on the Joba injury

Perspective is often a difficult thing to maintain when it comes to the New York Yankees. With the amount of media covering them every day and the passions they inspire ? both love and hate ? it can be difficult to find an un-biased opinion. With that in mind, I figured I would look for some [...]

Joba to See Dr. James Andrews

Joba had his MRI today in New York and will be headed down to Alabama tomorrow to visit the renowned Dr. James Andrews. I could speculate as to what the significance of this is, but I think that will only make me depressed.

Bad times for the Yankees

Things just keep getting uglier for the New York Yankees. Tuesday night's 8-6 loss was the Yankees 7th in 10 games. That stretch of horrid baseball has followed an eight-game winning streak that now seems like a mirage, a tease to make Yankee fans think there might still be some magic left in these Bronx Bombers. The [...]

Evening Events

-It appears the Rockies have been awarded waiver claims to veteran pitcher Livan Hernandez.-According to the New York Post, Joba Chamberlain is scheduled to have his shoulder evaluated by Dr. James Andrews. This is very bad news for Yankees fans as it likely indicates a serious injury or befuddlement on the part of the Yankees medical staff. Ian Kennedy will be called up to replace...

KARSTENS, BAY, FAVRE, TX TECH BELL RINGER AND TOURETTE'S GUY

That's a title that you wouldn't expect to see while my brother was here. No? Let's get to the morning nonsense.*That had to be one of the ugliest perfect game attempts I've ever seen. Jeff Karstens had a number of balls that were hit very hard that his outfielders had a beat on. I wonder if the Yankees and their fans think that trade was such a slam dunk now that Joba Chamberlain...
