For those of you who may not be aware, Atlanta Braves pitcher, John Smoltz was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday with inflammation in his rotator cuff and biceps. Any injury could be crippling at this point in his career, especially one that involves his rotator cuff. Even at a time in which Smoltz could be down and out he is still focused on his team's ultimate goal, making the playoffs. The intensely competitive Smoltz said Tuesday he is willing to take on whatever role in the pitching staff he needs to in order to make that happen, even if it means coming back as the closer.
