Man, you're probably going to see this just about everywhere today, but if you haven't you're going to thank me. In what is perhaps the funniest video of the year, Comcast Sportsnet got hold of video that features Jonathan Papelbon in a high school talent competition. That part of the video is hilarious, but giving it to David Ortiz so he can show it to the whole team is even better....
Unbelievable. I'm ready to start an offshoot of Dancing With The Stars and I think I have my first two contestants in Collinsworth and Paps. I don't easily get embarrassed but if someone came across my Fourth Grade performance of Pinocchio, and put it on the internet, my face might get a little red. And I wasn't even in drag (although I did have on a ton of makeup).
FYI- I'm piecing together the full version that will be up soon.

Sapp Breaks Out His New Moves During Showtime's Debut Of Inside The NFL
I mentioned yesterday that there were going to be some guests stopping by for the first episode of Inside The NFL on Showtime. Roger Goodell was boring (as expected) and Deacon Jones was entertaining (as expected), but it was DWTS's Kym Johnson that stole the show. Well, she wasn't that exciting, but her appearance gave us our first look at Warren Sapp's new moves....
Memo to Papelbon: Throw the splitter!
Apparently, locating his fastball is more important than winning the game to Jonathan Papelbon.

Mike Timlin needs to retire
Yes, I absolutely appreciate everything that Mike Timlin has done for the Boston Red Sox. He has been an anchor in the bullpen for years, helping the team win two World Series in addition to making the playoffs two other times. The young guys in the bullpen wouldn't be what they are without the tutelage of Timlin. If he's not the captain of the 'pen pirates,' then...
Puck Daddy on Stars, Class of 08-09
Yahoo's Puck Daddy has been doing a great spin on the yearly previews of the NHL, following the high-school "Superlatives" styles in looking at each team. Today they released, by Sean Leahy, their preview of the Stars. Not a bad writeup: With stiff competition always getting better in the Western Conference, it might seems like the Stars will be in a...
True MLB Stories: Mike Timlin Edition
Last night, after the Red Sox crushing defeat delivered from the old, ineffective arm of Mike Timlin, the Sox lockerroom was a somber place. As the players began to file out of the lockerroom, Timlin remained seated at his locker, uniform still on, head hung low. Players passed him on the way out, some shaking their heads, other patting him on the back. Some wishing he'd just...

The real reason the Sox dropped 2 of 3 to the Rays...
Jonathan Papelbon's teammates got a glimpse at his younger days thanks to video footage of Paps in a blode wig and doing his best Dirty Dancing impression back in high school... I can only assume these images have been clouding their minds for the past three days, resulting in two dramatic losses to the Rays.

Spurs Coach Believes Tottenham Stars Should RELISH This Hectic Period
Spurs assistant Gus Poyet believes the squad should savour the hectic 17-day period of games coming up.
Tottenham face six games, including three league games, a two-legged UEFA Cup tie and a Carling Cup fixture in the space of 17 days. But despite the frequent calls for rests with the busy schedules, Poyet admitted he used [...]
Sox Streak Into History
The streak began in May of 2003. That year was a turning point in the history, and the fortunes, of the storied Olde Towne Team.. Red Sox fans obviously knew they were on to something -- a hot, competitive team -- when they launched a streak of 456 consecutive sellouts at Fenway Park, en route to
