Ed Coleman of WFAN mentioned an interesting name on his blog this morning while discussing relief options for the Mets; Juan Cruz.
I must say, that until I read his post, I never really gave much thought to Cruz before, so I decided to take a closer look at him and see why Coleman thought he'd be a good fit for the Mets.
I was very surprised to see how dominant he has been as a reliever in the last two seasons. I expected him to be effective, but I had no idea he was this good. I compiled some of his key stats for you.

Why Heilman wasn't traded...
It makes absolutely no sense for the Mets not to make a trade for Huston Street if the asking price is Aaron Heilman and Pedro Feliciano. Either the rumor is inaccurate or there is some other consideration as to why the deal wasn't consummated.Looking at the trade rumor itself: Huston Street ...

For anybody waiting for a Thanksgiving surprise from Omar and company, if there is one, it won't be Francisco Rodriguez.

Mets Finally Get K-Rod's Medical Reports...
The NY Post is reporting that the Mets finally got Francisco Rodriguez's medical reports yesterday. The hold up according to agent Paul Kinzer, was that a "miscommunication" with the Angels - K-Rod's former team - caused the reports to be delayed."We were a little late getting [the reports] to the Mets, but they're in now and every thing's good,"...
Somehow, this Citigroup thing is the Mets fault
Only Wallace Matthews could place blame on the Mets for the economic downturn.
Citigroup and their naming rights
The most exciting thing going on in Mets land right now is whether or not Citigroup should retain the naming rights to Citi Field after getting bailed out by the US government. Remember when baseball was an escape from everyday life, where you could focus on nothing but the game and the players and their passion for the game? Yeah, I can barely remember it either.
