One of the greatest waste of talents ever. Not that his career is all that bad, but he could have been the greatest of all time. Unfortunately, he couldn't stay healthy and he was mentally soft.

Griffey is still playing? How many injuries will he get in ATL?
-
One of the greatest swings of all time..... He will fit in great in ATL and have a better than avg season.......
-
A waste of talent??? You've got to be kidding me. Injuries do not translate into a waste of talent. Drugs, failure to play hard, and a lack of preparation translate into a waste of talent. Junior did not waste his talent. In fact, his career rates as one of the best ever. 600+ HRs - 1770+ RBIs - 13 All Star selections - 10 gold gloves - 0.288 career batting average. He is a sure fire HOFer and one of the best ever. Could he have been the best? Who knows? Could Mickey Mantle have been the best had he not had injuries and love of fast living? Who knows? What we do know is that Griffey was great and definitely didn't waste his talent.

WOW!!! Waste of Talent, that's HARSH,Umm injuries slowed his run for the Homerun record and I don't consider Ken Griffey's career a waste..And he is gonna be a Hall of Famer and he did all this during the Steroid Era and get this?? He hasn't used steroids at all..So Good Luck in the ATL,Hold up I thought he was heading back to Seattle though,oh well where ever he ends up playing at Good Luck..
-
Yeah he was one of my favorites... kept getting injured! his numbers still are amazing though! and will go down in history for sure!
-
Cant say he never used sterioids.. we dont know yet! that 103 people or whatever, the only name we know was A-rod....... I hope K griff didnt do em.
-
True that but it's funny though No one has ever said or mentioned his name in the conversation..Of potential Steroid Users.
-
Trying to hit the presses a little to quick there. lol 28 hours later he signs with the Mariners, keep your day job man, oops which i hope isn't sports related.
-
With Furcal, Peavy, and now Griffey, it's clear that the Braves shouldn't think anything is a done deal until the name is inked on the contract!
-
good call, he reportedly signed with the Mariners.
-
I'm just busting balls, nothing personal fella.

Junior to Seattle (Not Joking)
I had a post all written out in my draft folder about Ken Griffey Jr. signing with the Atlanta Braves, and how people needn’t bash on Junior because of it, and that it was the media who jumped the gun and made him look bad while he was simply trying to make a decision.
But now [...]
Happy Griffey Day!
Wow, it finally happened. Ken Griffey Jr. is coming back to Seattle.
The emotions I am feeling are relief and surprise, not joy. I’ve been so beaten down by the events of the past year that I assumed the Ms front office would find a way to eff this up. But they didn’t, and know we [...]
See you at the yard, Junior
There are only about half a dozen baseball memories where I can recall where I was, who I was with and quite possibly what I was drinking when "it" happened. The Dodgers Kurt Gibson's hobbling home run trot in Game 1 of the 1988 World Series is one of them.Three others belong to Ken Griffey Jr.In 1989, Griffey wasn't much older than me at the time. Stepping to the...
