Dom D's Mets Fan Blog:

Tonight I will get a chance to check out some Mets farmhands in action as the Buffalo Bisons come to town to take on the Norfolk Tides. Nelson Figueroa (0-4, 3.54) is scheduled to face a local favorite, Chris Tillman (5-0, 2.13).
Among those I will be keeping a close eye on are Nelson Figueroa, Javier Valentin, Emil Brown, Eddie Kunz, and newly acquired Lance Broadway.
Tonight after the game I will be posting pictures and a brief rundown of the game. I also plan to attend the games on Wednesday and possibly Friday as well. Because of this trip, however, I will not be posting Mets pre-game and post-game rundowns.
I'm torn...I'm a lifelong Tides fan (Mets AAA affiliate from 1969-2006) since I grew up in the area, but then again, the new Mets affiliate is in town...

Add Valentin to the injured list...
For those of us who thought Javier Valentin should be called up to replace Ramon Martinez, we can scratch him from the list. Valentin played third base, for the second straight game but left after three at-bats with shoulder soreness. While he wouldn't have been an ideal move because of positional redundancy ( C, 1B, 3B) but he was the best available bat, hitting .333.The question...
Angel Pagan Day-to-day - groin injury...
Add Angel Pagen to the list of walking wounded, which is affectionately being called day-to-day by the Mets organization. When Pagan pulled up lame will attempting to run down a ball in the gap, I thought the worst, a torn hammy. Pagan is calling the injury groin discomfort, he received an MRI after the game but no official word has been given and he's listed as day-to-day...Coming...
Game 50: Pirates Putz Mets Away
So much chaos while I was away: injuries, stomach bugs causing people to leave in mid-game, the long-awaiting goodbye to Ramon Castro, the addition of two more reclamation projects in the organisation...(right, Emil Brown solves everything...)Anyone looking for a punching bag?And yet through it all, the Mets, for the most part, kept winning. But not last night. If Sunday's near...
Ramon Martinez injured - broken finger
Ramon Martinez broke his pinkie while sliding into home, scoring the only Mets run of the game.Martinez will more then likely be added to the disabled list, the Mets can either play short until Friday when Reyes comes off the DL or bring someone up.The Mets are clearly struggling offensively with all the injuries and I wouldn't play short handed.Javier Valentin is a right handed...
What to do with Tim Redding...
The Mets signed Tim Redding to a one-year 2.25 MM contract and knowing how they operate, they will simply not eat the deal, no matter how ineffective Redding is...Jerry Manuel will either keep him as the fifth starter or put him in the bullpen as the long-man/mop-up duty. After his first start against a very tough club, in the Los Angeles Dodgers, Redding has been absolutely awful...
Brown Replaces Ramon Martinez
Emil Brown was recalled from AAA Buffalo to replace Ramon Martinez on the active roster. Martinez was placed on the DL after dislocating his pinky sliding into home last night. Brown was acquired from the San Diego Padres on May 29 for a player to be named later.

All Wet in Pittsburgh
Mets rained out tonight. Makeup will be July 2, 12:35 PM. When we finish this series Thursday afternoon, it will be without Nate McLouth anywhere in sight. Adam Rubin reports he's been traded to Atlanta.
Emil Brown replaces Ramon Martinez in a roster move that is sure to set my partner's heart aflutter. Reyes set back at least a few days in extended spring training, which...
Nick Johnson - Thanks, But No Thanks
With Carlos Delgado recovering from hip surgery, the idea of the Mets dealing for Nationals first baseman Nick Johnson has been exhausted by the New York fans and media for at least a few weeks now, and with good reason. Johnson carries with him a career on-base percentage of .399 and OPS of .855, to say nothing of his top-notch defense. He’s had a very productive year with the...
