Ken Rosenthal's latest column suggest that many teams are in the Jake Peavy sweepstakes. He says the Braves lead the way with a possible trade of Yunel Escobar plus prospects.
He also lists Angels, Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, Cubs, Astros, Dodgers, Cardinals, Rays, Rangers.....
Speaking of the Mets:
Rosenthal has said that the Mets have definite interest on the club's part; the question, as with the Yankees, is whether Peavy would be willing to play in New York. The Mets could offer lefty Jon Niese or righty Robert Parnell, and the Padres no doubt would want Daniel Murphy, an impressive hitter who is defensively challenged.
I would not mind trading Murphy/Niese for Peavy as I mentioned in another post. What do you think??
The question remains if Peavy would like it in NY!

Braves Getting Serious about Peavy
The rumors have been abounding about Jake Peavy and the Braves this week and it's looking more and more like reality than a far fetched nicety. Now, you can call me "Johnny Come Lately" if you want and I know you've had enough, but I'm glad to hear that at the very least the Braves are proudly being aggressive enough to go after a pitcher that's making even the Yankees drool.

Title nearly copied from WV23
Perhaps you've all seen Phil Rogers' article from yesterday. If not, check it out. Rogers claims the Cubs could have interest in Manny Ramirez. This was purely speculative on his part and that's what makes it so fun. We all love offseason speculation and to dream of the Cubs signing every single free agent we'd want and trading for the best players in the game...

Everyone seems to be salivating over the thought of getting ace pitcher Jake Peavy from the San Diego Padres.

Mets Should Trade for Peavy !
The Mets have been quiet which makes me believe they are waiting for the pearly gates of free agency to open, after the World Series.
The Mets who have Santana, Maine, and Pelfrey under contract next year, they need another starter. While teams like the Braves, Cardinals, and other teams like the Yankees have been mentioned in possible rumors to explore a trade for Jake Peavy...

It was just last week that Ken Rosenthal believed Derek Lowe would stay on the west coast. However, Lowe clarified himself directly to Rosenthal saying that he would like to return to the east coast.
