In what should be the most exciting series of all the divisional matchups, the Philadelphia Phillies will take on the Milwaukee Brewers. Plenty of offense will be showcased in this series with the likes of Ryan Braun, Prince Fielder, Chase Utley, Ryan Howard and Jimmy Rollins. However, in the end starting pitching and bullpens win postseason games and the Phillies simply have more of it. CC Sabathia is a horse who will pitch again on short rest, but without Ben Sheets who has been shut down for the year, the Brewers simply do not have the starting pitching depth that they will sorely need. Additionally, with a shaky bullpen of Salomon Torres and Eric Gagne, the Brewers will not be able to rely upon either of them to record a big out nor to slow down the Phillies powerful offense. In the end, the Phillies offense, adequate pitching, and great bullpen led by Brad Lidge who coverted 41 of 41 saves will be too much for the Brewers to overcome. Pitching Matchups (First 3 games listed): Yovani Gallardo vs Cole Hamels CC Sabathia vs Brett Myers Jamie Moyer vs David Bush Season Series: Phillies won 5 of 6 Prediction: Phillies in 4 games.

Game Day: Phillies vs. Brewers Game 1

Phillies fans will be rushing home from work to catch the game on television (TBS), listening to it on the radio, or pushing work aside and following the game on the Internet beginning at 3 o'clock this afternoon. PreGaming with Craigslist: Phillies/Brewers

People in two miserable cities are getting ready for the NLDS. But checking on Craigslist, you wouldn't know it. There's a game in Philly tonight, and by the looks of it... ugh. I can't lie - Philly seems completely unexcited about Game 1. Even in the seediest of seedy places on Craigslist you can barely find a mention of the game. No one could muster a simple...

MLB Playoffs: Crazy Analysis of Game1 of Phils-Brew Crew NLDS

I came up with what I thought was a clever idea to watch each of the three major league baseball playoff games on Wednesday and blog about them. Get some food, make sure I had some beverages in the house, and take some notes on the action. I should have known how obsessed I would become, because I started taking notes on every at bat. What I thought would be a relaxing way to spend...

How can the Cubs possibly win in the postseason with a rookie catcher?

We were told last season, endlessly I must add, that teams cannot win with rookie catchers. We were told many things by this bright man, but that's perhaps the second dumbest thing he ever preached. You must be asking yourself what is the dumbest thing this man told us? Well, that would be his endless preachings about how important catcher's defense is and, in particular...
