MLB World Series Predictions

So who do you think will be contenders for the World Series this year? I know mine. For the N.L. right now the Cubs are doing awesome with a 47-28 record as of right now and Ryan Dempster with an 8-2 pitching record. Derrek Lee has been doing good with 15 homers also. But that is not my pick. You might not agree but my pick is the Philadelphia Phillies. They might have a lower record from the Cubs (42-33) but there doing fine. They have three very good pitchers. Ace Cole Hamels coming in a 7-4 record same record with Jamie Moyer and Kyle Kendrick 6-3 record. The Phillies are known for there explosive offense. Chase Utley you may say that he is in a 0 for 20 Slump but he'll work his way out of it. Look at the biggining of the year. Utley Blasted 12 Homers for the month of April and has 22 Homers right now. Ryan Howard yes I know he strikes out a lot. But he been hittin homers to with 19 on the year. Pat Burrell is doing remarkable same with Brad Lidge having 18 Saves already. Now on to A.L. Three teams have doing to great Tampa Bay Rays, Boston Red Sox, and Los Angeles/Anaheim Angels. Out of those three I think the Red Sox will repeat back to the World Series. I'm not an A.L. fan and I watch N.L. more then A.L. so I don't know much about A.L. But that's what I'm predicting because they have the best record in A.L. 46-30. So here is what I think the World Series will be Red Sox Vs. Phillies. I think this will go down to game 7 the last game in the series. But I think the Phillies will take it in the end barely with a 5-3 victory in game 7. That's my prediction. Tell me what's yours in a comment below.

good thread, makes you want to speculate...such a many variable and unpredictable sport...would love the Sox repeat, so many games left...Phillies need another starter I think to get there...Cubs and Cards look like class of NL...AL wide open with leveled talent...Detroit will really heat up I'm thinking second half...New york, unless they get Wang back 100%/make a trade/and hughes, they will have to outscore teams at times, especially playoff time as it's all about the pitching...Ortiz's health will determine Sox fate some, as they will get another bat in July hopefully...TBay is more like a year away, maybe not...it's early, but going 04' rematch as of right now...Bos-St. Louis...Good read bro

Cards-Sox sounds good to me

two storied franchises and two good clubhouses with good FO's...the biggest unknown is the injuries in this sport...you need more luck to win a world series than any other title...it's like dominos, everything has to fall into place

I am being a little biased, but I feel that the Cubs are not as good as the Phillies. If it weren't for a foul ball called a home run, the Phillies would have swept them. Granted, the Cubs are only good at home... and they are amazing there, I think they will get the #1 seed in the NL. But my NLCS is Phillies-Cubs, with the Phillies winning 1 game at Chicago, to take the series 4-2.

As for the AL, everytime I say this is where the Red Sox run away and get some breathing room, the Rays keep closing the gap. Although I still have Boston winning the East, Tampa Bay WILL be in the Playoffs with the WildCard. I got the White Sox winning the Central, and Los Angeles winning the West and getting home field. My ALCS is Red Sox-Angels, with the Angels winning in 7.

As for the World Series... I have the NL winning the World Series. So Game 7, Phillies down 5-4 in the bottom of the ninth. Two outs, Rollins comes up and hits a double. Victorino hits a single to left, Rollins stays at third. First and third, two outs. With Utley batting, Victorino steals 2nd, so we have 2nd and 3rd with two outs. Utley hits a ball in between center and right. Rollins easily scores, Torii Hunter makes the cut off and Victorino rounds third. Play at the plate... SAFE!!! Phillies win 6-5!!!

I meant, I have the NL winning the All Star Game, so the Phillies have home field

Red Sox over the Cubs in 6 games.

it seems like the obvious pick right now, but I like the Sox and Cubbies in the WS... that said, both teams are fight some pitching injuries right now... maybe the Angels finally win a postseason series... and don't cound the Tigers out yet - they're too good not to be in the mix come Sept.

Bottom Line Rob

Baseball Playoffs Now is completely devoted to this topic. Latest world champions: Red Sox over the Cubs in 7, but wild cards Tampa and St. Louis both make it into the league championship series.
