Thursday, three teams lost games because their managers made terrible, terrible decisions.
The Phillies gifted the Rockies a game when their offense failed to show up and made Aaron Cook look half-decent — which he’s not. No wonder the Fightins only scored a pathetic four runs — skipper Chollie Manuel was asleep at the wheel and neglected to put Miguel Cairo into the game until the 7th inning.
Now I didn’t realize Miguel Cairo was still alive, much less on the Phillies — but I’m not the manager of the Phillies, am I? That’s the kind of **** Charlie Manuel gets paid to know. Instead Chollie lets his best hitter sit on the bench for six innings, playing Pedro Feliz instead. Cairo can’t...
