Here's the footage of Manny Acta and Elijah Dukes going at it in the dugout after Lastings Milledge hit a homer to give the Nationals the league. Needless to say, they are not happy with each other for some reason.

Elijah Dukes Dissed His Manager, Dawg

LBS and MLB FanHouse favorite, Elijah Dukes, had another magnificent moment on Tuesday night. After clubbing a 9th inning double against the Pirates, he was driven in by Lasting Milledge's go-ahead two-run HR which eventually won the game. The pair did a little handshake at the plate which has so often become the [...]

TEN POINTS

1. Nice to see a sign of life out of the Pirates yesterday. The 5-3 win was nice, but standing up to Randy Johnson? That was impressive. What, was Doug Mientkiewicz angling to make the next Robin Ventura-Nolan Ryan moment? 2. By the way, I totally forgot that Mientkiewicz was the high school teammate of one Alex Rodriguez in both baseball and football. Rodriguez was the quarterback...

LAROCHE: THE BEST?

Pirates first baseman Adam LaRoche is currently hitting .221 with six homers. On this date last year, he was hitting .211 with seven homers. In Atlanta in 2006, those numbers were .247 and 10, and in 2005, .249 and seven. So the Pirates acquired this traditional late-bloomer before the 2007 campaign, and his early-season numbers since joining the Buccos have tailed off even below...

Acta Clearly Ain’t Scared of Nobody

Let's get the formalities out of the way: Last night was a fantastic win for the Nats — the type of victory that keeps us watching one of the worst teams in baseball. They came back to win the game thanks to a go-ahead homer from Lastings with two outs in the 9th. Now, to [...]

Is it time for Bowden to go?

What can you say about the Nationals that has not been said yet. They stink right now. They can't hit, there is no power, their pitching is suspect, their defense worse than that. The one I feel sorry for ? Christian Guzman. He is having an excellent season among a horrible team.

Your Washington Nationals Could Be The Worst Hitting Team of the 21st Century

Washington obviously couldn't hit water if they jumped ship right now. But are they making history or just plain rotten? According to the Post's Chico Harlan, some San Fran scribes think it's the former: I'd estimate about a half-dozen visiting ballwriters (some vets) told me this weekend that the Nats had the worst lineup they'd ever [...]

Don’t Fear, There’s Still Plenty of Time for Nats to Reach New Lows

Yesterday, an astute reporter happened to notice that the Nationals are painfully bad right now. Like, worse than usual, which is saying something. They're 25-39 (hey, the Rockies are still a half-game worse!) and have lost eight their last 10. So, armed with this knowledge, said reporter asked Manny Acta after Sunday's loss if the [...]

The Daily Whine: Vacation theory crumbles

My vaunted vacation theory - that an object's velocity is derivative of the object's position in respect to the object's fantasy team going nuts when the object is on vacation - is officially retired. It may work like a charm for some of you. Hell, a few of you might have disappeared into the Caribbean permanently. But when the theorist himself - me - can no longer get...
