Eli's MLB Rumors:
The Mariners are reportedly shopping pitcher Miguel Batista, the Seattle News Tribune is reporting. Batista, who will make 9 million dollars this season, went 4-14 with a 6.26 ERA in 44 games last season. Batista has given up six earned runs in 10.1 innings this spring. Batista, 38, won 16 games last season with a 4.29 ERA in 33 starts for the Mariners. Sources with knowledge of the Mariners thinking say that the Mariners will try to trade a portion of his salary before releasing him. Batista has been more of a ground ball pitcher over the course of his career, so if the Mariners are willing to take on his salary, he could be moved.

Chris Jakubauskas is still around, and I can’t imagine why unless they are [...]

Scenario B it is!
Ryan Rowland-Smith has been named the M’s 5th starter, according to Geoff Baker.
Seattle will go with 7 righties in the pen, likely Brandon Morrow, David Aardsma, Mark Lowe, Roy Corcoran, Jesus Delgado, Shawn Kelley and then either Miguel Batista or Chris Jakubauskas.
I was really upset at the possibility of Jakubauskas taking RRS’ [...]
