INSIDER: The Yankees have won 4 out of 6 on their recent road trip and taken 2 out of 3 from the Toronto Blue Jays. Tonight they won 3-2.
ON THE MOUND:

CC Sabathia picked up his 3rd win of the year as he allowed just 2 runs on 5 hits while striking out 5 in 8 innings. He also walked 4. 65 of his 111 pitches were strikes.
Alex Rios took him deep in the fourth inning for a solo homer to center.
The other run scored was in the fifth inning, when Scott Rolen walked and was doubled home by Rod Barajas.

Sabathia was also helped by his defense when Gardner made an assist at home and Cervelli came up with a great tag.
Johnny Damon hit a double in the first. It marked Damon's 10th consecutive with an extra-base hit, trying a Yankees franchise record previously shared by Don Mattingly (1987) and Paul O'Neill (2001).

Damon came around to score on a bases loaded walk in the first and Swisher picked up the RBI.
In the seventh, Brett Gardner worked a walk and moved to third base on a single by Francisco Cervelli. Jason Frasor relieved and Derek Jeter blooped a run-scoring single over the head of second baseman John McDonald, tying the game.

After sitting out a day with a tight right hamstring, Hideki Matsui slugged the go-ahead shot leading off the eighth inning against Toronto reliever Jesse Carlson to give the Yankees a 3-2 lead.

Fake Umps Call Balls & Strikes From Stands
Well done by a couple of amateur comedians at the Yankees/Jays game last night. Amateur? Give these guys some credit. They got that umpire mask by security, paid for the expensive seats, and provided a lot more excitement than the actual Blue Jays did.
