Found November 29, 2007 on hotfootblog.com:
According to WFAN, the Mets are set to make an offer of OF Carlos Gomez, SP Deolis Guerra, and SP Kevin Mulvey for Athletics SP Dan Haren and RP Kiko Calero.

  • Boy, that's a lot to give up, but I'd do it. Haren gives them the ace to put with Perez and Maine. Calero had a rough year in 2007, but has a terrific arm, but could do well at Shea and working with Rick Peterson.

First Look: Santana Trade

Assuming that the Mets and Santana work out a contract within the next two or three days, Santana's days with the Twins are now over, and Carlos Gomez, Phil Humber, Deolis Gurerra and Kevin Mulvey will all be heading to Fort Myers come mid-February.I can't say that I'm all that disappointed in the ou...

BREAKING: Mets Acquire Johan Santana

I'm numb. It's finally over? I don't believe it. Carlos Gomez, Phil Humber, Deolis Guerra and Kevin Mulvey is the package that got it done, according to USA Today. So the Mets acquire the best pitcher in baseball and hold on to their top prospect, Fernando Martinez. Not a bad day's work for Omar Minaya. More to follow?

Santana to Mets

Well, its finally over. As a Twins fan I'm completely distraught and I plan on missing my last class of the day to go out and get drunk. I would have been fine if F-Mart was included, i'm still crossing my fingers that his name is involved... but so far its Santana for outfielder Carlos Gomez and pitchers Phil Humber, Deolis Guerra and Kevin Mulvey. This is how...

Can Millz Rescue Mets?

Don't be surprised if Lastings Milledge is the Mets' starting leftfielder after the All-Star break, says Anthony Rieber of Newsday. Milledge, a.k.a. L Millz, has been tearing the cover off the ball during his rehab assignment, abusing Double-A pitchers to the tune of a .435 average with 3 homers and 8 RBI in five games with the Binghamton Mets. Millz had ben sidelined...

Minors: What's Left

Amidst the joy Mets fans are feeling from the Johan Santana acquisition, the fact remains that the Mets did trade a significant portion of their top minor league talent. According to Baseball America’s top 10 Mets prospects list, RHP Deolis Guerra, OF Carlos Gomez and RHPs Kevin Mulvey and Phil...

Here's Some More Santana and the Mets News

I don't know if Joe Christensen is intentionally messing with the heads of Mets fans or if his information is real. Last week, Christensen began a firestorm in Mets world by claiming that the Mets could finalize a deal for Santana by adding Fernando Martinez to a package of Carols Gomez, Deolis Guerra, Kevin Mulvey and Philip Humber. This week, he is reporting that of the 3 packages...

Reaction: Santana to the Mets

Aaron Gleeman, who writes for The Hardball Times and Rotoworld.com and is also a Twins fan, writes on his blog that while a Phil Hughes-led offer from the Yankees would be enticing to Minnesota, a Mets package that includes Fernando Martinez, Carlos Gomez, Deolis Guerra, Kevin Mulvey and Phil Humber would "blow [the Yankee offer] out of the water.

Rangers thoughts on Santana and Ryan.

The trendy thing for a baseball blogger to do today is come up with his team's equivalent to Carlos Gomez, Philip Humber, Deolis Guerra, and Kevin Mulvey, setting up a strawman argument that his team'...

L Millz Is Irrelevant

In today's paper, Newsday catches up with aspiring rap mogul L Millz a.k.a. DA Edge a.k.a. Lastings Milledge, who angered his Met bosses last month with the release of a profanity-laden rap song. The once-highly-touted outfielder has been out since April after spraining ligaments in his foot, and is still several weeks away from returning to action. Says Milledge: "...

Santana had to go

The Twins tried to make a last-minute offer to Johan Santana by offering him a five-year, $100 million offer. Santana and his agent, Peter Greenberg, rejected it so therefore, the team had no choice, but to trade their ace. Santana was sent to the New York Mets for pitchers Kevin Mulvey, Phil Humber ...

Moises, Still On the Shelf

Yesterday, Moises Alou had another MRI on his strained left quad. The news isn't very good as it's still showing inflammation and soreness. With Alou out and Endy Chavez also on the DL with a hamstring injury, by default Carlos Gomez is the every day left fielder. This season was the first year he played above AA ball, and he still needs some work in the minors. It'...

The Hyper-Twin Heist

It looks like the Johan Santana deal is pretty much completed, pending a physical, so I'll deviate from the usual Giants chatter to jabber about it a little. The deal would end up sending Santana to the Mets for outfielder Carlos Gomez and pitchers Philip Humber, Kevin Mulvey and Deolis Guerra. Only ...

Wecome Back Angel Pagan

The Mets have re-acquired former minor league prospect Angel Pagan from the Cubs in exchange for minor leaguers Corey Coles and Ryan Meyers. Neither Coles nor Meyers was highly touted by the organization. You may remember Pagan was a young star for the inaugural 2001 Brooklyn Cyclones who were named co-champions of the NY-Penn league after the championship series was cut short...

Mets Targeting Bedard And Haren At Winter Meetings

According to industry sources of the Baltimore Sun, the Orioles rejected a trade offer recently by the Mets for Erik Bedard which included 21-year-old outfield prospect Carlos Gomez, reliever Aaron Heilman, 29, and a third player, believed to be right-handed starter Philip Humber, 24.

Minnesota Twins 2008 Predictions:

Ok, with Denard Span being sent down to AAA and Joe Nathan being inked to a 4 year, $47 M payday, the Minnesota Twins opening day roster is rounding into shape.  Here are my predictions for the upcoming season.  The opening day lineup will look like this: 1. Carlos Gomez, CF 2. Joe Mauer, C 3. Mich...
