The New York Mets look like they may have begun to address the injury problems that are already striking their starting rotation. The team is on the verge of signing free-agent Claudio Vargas to a AAA minor league deal. According to Vargas agent, Bean Stringfellow, there were four teams showing interest in him and that the Mets are the favorite. I'm not sure how believable that statement actually is thou.

New York Mets... RickRoll'd

According to the New York Daily News, the Mets were the victim of an internet-organized prank. When asked to vote for the new 8th Inning song at Shea Stadium, "fans" apparently voted for the ubiquitous "Never Gonna Give You Up" by white chocolate himself, Rick Astley.

Mets Get RickRoll'd (with video)

You might have heard a Mets were RickRoll'd after opening up the polls to the fans to select a new song to play in the eighth inning. Now, there is video of the fans' reaction to Never Gonna Give You Up playing in Shea.

WEEKLY WILLIE RANDOLPH WATCH LIST

I am not saying the Mets need to fire Willie Randolph if they lose the next two games to the Phillies, but I just feel like I'm watching the same bad movie, night in and night out, and Willie's lack of change is something that needs to be monitored.

Met Fans Rick Roll their own team…sorta

So, a couple of creative New York Met fans got over 5 MILLION, yes, I said MILLION people to vote for Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" as the official 8th inning sing-a-long for every home game. Sadly, a few Mets representatives know the whole story, and know the majority of those 5 million votes did not come from Met fans. However, they haven't nixed...

Mets Hate Chase Utley

The Mets have hit Chase Utley three times already in a game that's still in progress, tying the Major League Baseball record. If I made bad puns, I'd say "Look out Craig Biggio, the Chase is on."

Wise to DL; Muniz coming up

Matt Wise, who is suffering from forearm stiffness, looks like he's heading to the disabled list, according to Adam Rubin. The Mets will call up Carlos Muniz.

Luis Castillo, El Duque, and Angel Pagan updates

Luis Castillo is day to day, El Duque has been shut down with a tendon strain, and Angel Pagan is batting second in the order.

There Will Be Blood

Rival- equal: be equal to in quality or ability; "Nothing can rival cotton for durability"; "Your performance doesn't even touch that of your colleagues". Be the rival of, be in competition with; "we are rivaling for first place in the race". The contestant you hope to defeat; "he had respect for his rivals"; "he wanted to know what...

Shea Stadium and the New York Mets: You were just Rick Rolled

Here is video from the game when the New York Mets and all the fans in Shea Stadium were Rick Rolled today. In the video you can hear the crowd reaction. Sounds like BOO's to me.

Mets stomp error-prone Phillies

So much for the Phillies owning the Mets. The Mets took advantage of 4 errors and a poor start by Kyle Kendrick to win 8-2 and snap the Phillies' nine game winning streak over New York. The Phils played without Jimmy Rollins, who sat out with a minor ankle injury, and his replacement Eric Bruntlett made two costly errors in the 3rd inning that led to a 6-run outburst by the Mets...

Phillies rally late to beat Mets; Rollins Injured

The Phillies continued their recent dominance of the Mets by overcoming a 2-0 deficit in the late innings to win 5-2. The Phillies nearly wasted a good pitching performance by Jamie Moyer, who pitched six innings and gave up only two runs. Oliver Perez started for the Mets and pitched great, allowing no runs to score, but lasted only 5 2/3 innings. As soon as the Phillies got to...

Sprain can't stop Rollins

The Philadelphia Phillies were the team to beat last year, and Jimmy Rollins says they are this year. And you know what, if the New York Mets couldn't beat them last year, he sure as hell isn't letting a sprained ankle beat him. For those who don't know by now, Rollins sprained his ankle today in the 8th inning against the Mets.

Appreciating Greatness

Every year when the Brewers schedule comes out I always look to see when the Cincinnati Reds come to town. I can almost be guaranteed to see exciting ball games but more importantly I get a chance to see one of the greatest players of all-time: Ken Griffey Jr. I know fan protocol says you cheer your heart out for your team and boo the opposition unmercifully. I've never been...
