The Astros sent 5 players to the Orioles ? outfielder Luke Scott, pitchers Matt Albers, Troy Patton and Dennis Sarfate, and third-base prospect Michael Costanzo.

Remember when Miquel Tejada was considered to be one of the best shortstops in all of baseball? Remember when he hit 34 Homer's, 150 RBI's and batted .311 in 2004? Remember him winning the 2002 AL MVP award? Seems like a long time ago doesn't it?

So the deal is finally done, the O's have traded Miguel Tejada to the Astros for what seems like an entire softball team. In the deal they get Luke Scott, Matt Albers, Troy Patton and Dennis Sarfate. Hmmm, now I know what you're thinking, "Wow, what a great deal for the Orioles, they got like 1-2-3-4-5 players!" Well, not so much.

The Orioles lost their likely fifth starter for the season in Troy Patton, but Mike Costanzo is still making the Miguel Tejada trade look good. Also, Nick Markakis is grumbling about a $55,000 pay raise (that the Orioles were under no obligation to give him) and all the rest from O's camp.

The Phillies have announced that closer Brad Lidge has signed a three-year, $37.5 million dollar extension that will run through 2011. The deal also hold a club option for a fourth season.
