According to a report from the Chicago Tribune, the Cubs "may look at signing veteran infielder Mike Lamb to a minor league deal." The Cubs have looked all spring for a proven backup for Aramis Ramirez. The report indicated Lamb would be used as security in case of an Aramis Ramirez injury.
The Brewers just released Lamb in favor of former Cub, Casey McGehee.

According to the Tribune the Cubs are interested in signing Mike Lamb to a minor league deal. Lamb was pretty good with the Astros in 2004, 2006 and 2007, but was horrific with the Twins last year. He can play 1st and 3rd.

Last season in late September the Brewers picked up Mike Lamb, to be used as a pinch hitter and reserve player. Lamb went 3 for 11 during the stretch run, but was not put on the post season roster. On tuesday the Brewers decided to essenially release Lamb, by not putting him on the opening day roster. He has the option to play for AAA Nashville, but will likely hold out for another...
