Found December 20, 2008 on Eli's MLB Rumors:
The Nationals and pitcher Daniel Cabrera have reached an agreement on a one year deal, MLB.com is reporting. Cabrera, 27, was 8-10 with a 5.25 ERA for the Orioles last season, and was pursued by the Pirates and Mets as well. This is a great signing by the Nationals, who bring in a hard throwing pitcher who will not even have to leave his home in Baltimore to play with the Nationals.?

Daniel Cabrera is Mr. Mid-Atlantic

Just when you thought Daniel Cabrera’s arm had flamed out for good, the Washington Nationals have proven that a year on the wild side may be a good thing. The Nats have signed Cabrera to a one-year deal worth $2.6 million. Pending a physical, the Nats will get a right-hander who has led the American League [...]

Did the Nationals get a gem in Daniel Cabrera?

The Nationals signed Daniel Cabrera yesterday to a one year, 2.6 million dollar deal where it seems that they beat out the Pirates and the Mets among others to get the big pitcher. How big is this signing? Well right now it seems pretty small. Living in Baltimore, I am very familiar with Cabrera's stuff. He is a big guy, really he's huge not only is he tall he has a big frame...

Don’t worry about this anymore

With all the recent fears of the Pirates going out to add even more wild pitchers, cross one off the list. [The Nationals have signed Daniel Cabrera].[A report earlier this week] put the Pirates “at the top” of the Cabrera negotiations. I would have liked to roll the dice on him, but his ...

Daniel Cabrera f/x

Just in time for his signing with Washington, Daniel Cabrera is the subject of my first contribution to Beyond the Box Score. I'll be posting a few times a week, over there. No real change in this blog, except maybe some less of the "what does that have to do with the Cubs?" stuff.

Holiday Shopping

The Nationals picked off pitcher Daniel Cabrera on a 1 year deal according to baseball sources. Cabrera was released by the Orioles just 1 week ago. This is the same 6?7? Daniel Cabrera who looked to be a star as a Rookie in 2004 when the power pitcher went 12-8 and was 3rd in [...]

Omar confirms interest in Cabrera

The Mets are looking to bring in some in-expensive pitchers to compete for the fifth spot in the rotation and possibly be kept on as a long man. It's sounds like the Mets would be comfortable with Jon Niese as the fifth stater or starting the year in Buffalo. They also have to take into ...

Nationals Sign Pitcher Daniel Cabrera

According to MLB.com, the Washington Nationals have agreed to a one-year deal with former Orioles starting pitcher, Danial Cabrera. Cabrera, 27, was 8-10 with a 5.25 ERA for the Orioles this past season. Known for his fastball, curveball and changeup, Cabrera will join a rotation that will include left-handers Scott Olsen and John Lannan, and replace Tim Redding in their rotation...

Daniel Cabrera Goes to Washington; Interest in Tim Redding?

It has been slow on the Mark Teixeira sweepstakes since Thursday night's meeting with the Red Sox down in Texas. There's not much else that has come out from the media besides more speculation; however, an ex-Oriole has found a new home -- not too far from the one he just left.According to Bill ...
