Nats Claim Stadium Not Done on Time, Seek $100K per Day from D.C.

That's funny, it sure looked done on Opening Night on ESPN. It turns out the District of Columbia failed to get the Nats' office space totally ready on time. That 3% of the venue, paid for and built by the District, entitled Nats' owner Ted Lerner to $100K per day in late penalties. Ted, let it go. There's more to this business than the letter of the contract.
