The hitting stars of the game for Trenton were center fielder Austin Jackson, left-fielder Edwar Gonzalez and second baseman Reegie Corona. Jackson went 1 for 2 with 2 runs scored. Replacing Pope to start the 7th inning was Grant Duff and he pitched a perfect 7th inning. Following Duff was Philip Bartleski and he pitched a perfect 8th inning. Jose Valdez pitched the 9th inning for his first save and he gave up 1 earned run on 1 hit. The hitting stars of the game for Tampa worth mentioning were third baseman Mitch Hilligoss and left-fielder Tim Battle. Hilligoss went 1 for 4 with 1 run scored and Battle went 1 for 3 with 1 rbi. Class A The Charleston RiverDogs got beat up by the Asheville Tourist by a score of 9-3. Starting for the RiverDogs was Noel Castillo and he gave up 3 earned runs on 6 hits in 4.2 innings for the loss. Replacing Castillo in the 5th inning was Jesse Hoover and he got absolutely rocked giving up 4 earned runs on 5 hits in 1.1 innings. Replacing Hoover to start the 8th inning was Gabe Medina and he gave up 2 earned runs on 5 hits in 2 innings. The hitting stars of the game for the RiverDogs were second baseman Justin Snyder and right-fielder Taylor Holiday. Snyder went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored and Holiday went 1 for 4 with 2 rbi's.
