According to foxsports.com's trade deadline buzz page, the Marlins have improved their offer (to Ryan Tucker plus another prospect) to Washington for Nick Johnson, and the Tigers are looking to further supplement their team by adding Luke Scott's bat. The Rangers were apparently seeking a right-handed bat earlier this week and have not been heavily linked with either LHB.
