Some notes from Tim Kurkjian, in the latest issue of ESPN the Magazine:It's hard to imagine the Angels allowing Chone Figgins to sign elsewhere this offseason. One of the reasons the Cubs are struggling is the lack of leadership, a void left empty after Kerry Wood and Mark DeRosa left this offseason.Despite George Sherrill's success in Los Angeles, they aren't regretting the deal. The White Sox are officially rebuilding, marked by the trade of Jose Contreras and Jim Thome.Thoughts:I think they won't value him enough to keep him, as the money will be too good elsewhere. No leadership, and a clubhouse cancer added. Well thought out by the Cubs. And they shouldn't.Not sure if they're rebuilding, because they still have loads of talent on their roster. Dealing two really aging vets isn't a sign of rebuilding, it's a sign of giving up on this season.

Previewing The Vladimir Guerrero Market
Vladimir Guerrero earned over $80MM over the course of his last contract.
