According to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, the Mets seem closer than ever to retain Oliver Perez. The Mets are pushing to give Oliver 3 years plus a 4 year vested option.

Wow, it was so great driving home from work knowing that Oliver Perez was back in the fold. Listening to all the excited Mets fans calling in on sports radio made the ride so enjoyable.
