The Nationals opened their new stadium in dramatic fashion with Ryan Zimmerman hitting a one run shot in the bottom of the ninth. The Braves backed Tim Hudson up much the same way they did all last season - with no run support save Chipper Jones' solo home run.

Nationals Park is the new home of the Washington Nationals of the NL East.
Although the Braves tied the game at 2 in the top of the 9th on a Paul Lo Duca (C) passed ball, young Nationals 3B Ryan Zimmerman launched a walk off HR to center with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th!

Boy, the Phillies really know how to suck the excitement out of Opening Day. The Phillies Achilles heel, their pitching, reared its ugly head today as the Phils lost to the Nationals 11-6.
This was not the start the Phillies were hoping for. The offense did its part, but the pitching looked like it did all spring: pathetic.
