Just a couple minor moves involving Jerry Owens and Daryle Ward. The Mariners have signed outfielder Jerry Owens to a minor league deal while the White Sox have signed Ward to a minor league deal and assigned him to Triple-A Charlotte. Ward was hitting .222 with 2 RBI in eight games for the Newark Bears before the White Sox picked him up.It is nice to see Ward land with a big league club. Ward struggled in 2008, but had a .327 batting average in 2007 with the Cubs, including 3 HR. I hope he does well for them.
