One of the very few unsettled roster spots for the Cubs is the back-up catching position. Mark Johnson was considered one of the three candidates when spring training began, but it’s now down to Koyie Hill and Paul Bako. Hill is projected to be better than Bako in 2009, but those involve samples over the last few years that are small and/or unreliable. So far this spring, Koyie Hill has out-hit Bako.
Hill: 8-24, 2 R, 4 RBI, 3 2B, 3 BB, 4 K
Bako: 4-20, 2 R, RBI, 2 BB, 4 K
