Raul Ibanez Signs Three Year Deal
The Phillies and Raul Ibanez finalized their contract for the next three years today. Ibanez, who will replace Pat Burrell will make $31.5 million.
Are you a Phillies fan? Then answer this question honestly. I dare you.
I am posing a question to all Phillies fans! I request that everyone please try to answer this question honestly.
I have no doubt Ibanez is a classy and high character guy who will probably fill in admirably to replace Pat Burrell. This offseason we have replaced Pat with Raul and resigned a 46 year old pitcher to a two year contract. We have also signed a long relief pitcher...
Phillies Sign Moyer
The Phillies and Jamie Moyer have come to an agreement on a two year deal. Moyer, 46, led the Phillies with 16 wins last season. Not only does he bring an excellent work ethic to the team but he brings experience to a fairly young staff.?Despite his age, this is a solid signing.?This story was approved by MLB Rumors.
ECU Could Make Case for a BCS Conference Spot with Success Away from the Turf
Now that Holland, Holtz and the Pirates have brought East Carolina University’s football program back to it’s familiar level of respect and success, there is more to focus on. ECU has a lot of potential to be a great candidate for a spot in a BCS conference. Unfortunately that time is not now, ...

A couple old notes to get us up to speed:
The Phillies non-tendered pitcher Scott Mathieson, then re-signed him to a minor league contract. (...)
Chan Ho Park a Phillie, According to Him
This morning, I sent Tugger out to the sidewalk to retrieve my copy of the Korea Times and when he returned, I found in the sports section coverage of a Chan Ho Park press conference. At the conference he announced he has signed with the Phillies. Do the Phillies know......

Chan Who? Whatever...
Chan Ho Park has been signed to a 1 year deal worth $2.5MM, with the chance to reach $5MM in incentives. The story- he was good for a good many years, then he was bad for a good many years, until bouncing back nicely in the Dodgers' bullpen last season. Ho Park wants the chance to start and it looks like he'll battle Kyle Kendrick, Carlos Carrasco, Drew Carpenter, and JA...
Spare My Ears
The Mets/Phillies rivalry is comprised mainly of players on both sides who like to talk, particularly when the season is 4 months away.
Thoughts on the Jamie Moyer deal
At the end of the day, the Phils were smart in going to two years to bring him back. A 46-year-old Moyer on a two-year, $15-ish million deal is a smarter bet than throwing $80-plus million at the injury prone, sometimes unmotivated A.J. Burnett for five years, or giving Derek Lowe or Ben Sheets crazy money for three or four years.
Pirates Sign Iraqi Shoe Thrower
The Pirates, who have emphasized a need to find talent via every available outlet, have again gone where no team has gone before.
Late Monday night, the Pirates came to terms with Iraqi pitcher Muntadhar al-Zaidi. The 28-year-old al-Zaidi will participate in the team’s Minor League Spring Training next year.
“We are intrigued by Muntadhar’s arm [...]

It will only get worse when the Winter Meetings start on Monday.Notice the timestamps on the posts. Less than 2 hours apart. To clarify, the top one is the latest report.
News and Notes--Nov. 30
Who doesn't love a good, old-fashioned, Jack Wilson rumor update? Well, [Ken Rosenthal] noted today that since the Dodgers wanted the Pirates to pay some of Wilson's salary, the Pirates wanted another prospect (plus the shortstop Hu and the outfielder Young--as reported earlier this week). That ...
