Phillies could revisit Halladay

Sporting News staff reports After settling for lefthander Cliff Lee at the nonwaiver trading deadline this season, the Phillies could make another run at Blue Jays ace Roy Halladay, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer. General manager Ruben Amaro Jr. told the newspaper that the bullpen remains the team's focus, but a source added that the Phillies are interested in "winning now." The Phillies' balked at Toronto's demands before the deadline, but the asking price might come down. The newspaper noted P Kyle Drabek still is on Philadelphia's untouchable list in any trade. As the Blue Jays explore a trade for Halladay, up to a dozen teams are expected to show interest. But the Phillies have the advantage of back-to-back World Series appearances. "We're in a fortunate position," Amaro told the newspaper. "We've become an attractive place to go."
