Hey, have you heard lately that the Phils are friggin' horrible? If not, you must be living under an Rosie O'Donnel sized rock, because they've completely sucked for over 2 weeks now.
Today they pull up into the Dallas Fort-Worth area to take on the Texas Rangers. It's a shame Chuck Norris won't be at the game, because he might actually be able to generate some entertainment and that's saying something.

Anybody that suggests that Myers is a good pitcher, that Ryan Howard is doing exactly what he did last year, and that Tom Gordon is having a good year is a retard. Big honkin' R-Tard for real, those statements are only made by people who lack knowledge...dammit people are stupid sometimes.

I volunteer to "accidentall" hit Brett Myers with my car. Not kill him, I ain't no murderer...just enough to cause damage so his punk ass is DL'd.

Gordon's Suffering Shoulder Pain
It's been 11 days since Tom Gordon has graced the mound for the Phillies. After coming off disastrous back-to-back outings (0-2, 1IP, 3 H, 2BB, 5R), the official word from the Phillies is they were giving him a week off to rest. That was on the level, at least from the Phillies point of view. In reality, Gordon is suffering from a sore shoulder; although he failed to let the Phillies know.
Benson Gets Promoted
With little to be happy about in all that is the Phillies right now, Kris Benson received some good news. The right-handed pitcher, recovering from rotator cuff surgery was promoted today to Lehigh Valley. Benson will make his third rehabilitation start on June 29th against the Syracuse Chiefs.
Benson Shows Improvement
Kris Benson made his second rehabilitation start last night for the Clearwater Threshers and showed much improvement from his previous outing. In Benson's first start he only lasted two innings, giving up three hits (all home runs), and five earned runs.
Manuel Shakes Things Up
It's no secret Charlie Manuel is frustrated. The Phillies are on a six-game skid, hitting .170 collectively. If you've watched the past six games, a .170 team average actually seems a bit high. They're chasing bad pitches, not advancing runners, striking out a ton, and overall playing the poorest they have all season.
Top Prospect Chris Davis Promoted To Texas
The Chris Davis era begins in Texas.
Should the Phillies really trade Carlos Carrasco
debate whether or not the Phils should trade their top pitching prospect for a rent-a-starter
Charlie, change it back! New line-up fails to deliver
As I wrote about last night's win, I mentioned the "funky" line-up that Charlie Manuel used that managed 11 hits and 4 walks but only scored 4 runs and stranded 26 runners. That got me curious as to how the "normal" Phillies line-up would have fared. Turns out that if Manuel had kept things the same, the Phillies would have scored twice as many runs and won the game 8-0.

Chulk to Phillies?
Giants pitcher Vinny Chulk has ten days to be traded by the Giants and the Phillies have emerged as a possible taker. The bullpen has been taxed and a change of scenery might help the struggling pitcher. He is 0-3 so far this season, but has not been pitching that bad. Chulk had nothing bad to say about the Giants but welcomes a trade anywhere. He would make for a solid, low-risk...
Phillies Feeling Loss Of Rowand
The Phillies have now lost five straight series with a record of 4-11 over that span. The offense has just completely disappeared. Star second baseman Chase Utley has just 10 hits in his last 53 at bats, including a streak in which he didn't have a hit in 23 at bats. His batting average has dropped 23 percentage points to .293 during the 15 game stretch. Reigning MVP and leadoff...
Saturday thread: Myers awful in 8-7 loss to Texas
The Phillies lost another game started by Brett Myers, this one coming at the hands of the .500 Rangers. With the loss, the Phils' NL East lead shrinks to one game over Florida. Myers, who's doing everything possible to force the Phillies' hand regarding his status as a starting pitcher, allowed five runs and four walks in two-plus innings, the shortest start of his career. This...
Kendrick snaps Phils losing streak despite funky line-up
It seemed like forever ago that Cole Hamels masterfully pitched the Phillies to a victory over the Red Sox. After losing six straight games, the Phils needed another masterful pitching performance, this time by Kyle Kendrick, to finally get another one in the win column, a 4-0 victory over the A's.
Kendrick wasn't dominant, but he was effective, throwing strikes and allowing...
Todd Jones Impersonates Magglio Ordonez in Rain Delay
Rain delays are always good for fun times in baseball. Over the weekend, it was Jonathan Papelbon and Manny Delcarmen doing a Milli Villi music video that brought entertainment to Fenway Park. Before that, it was the Texas Rangers using the tarp at Shea Stadium as a slip and slide. But of [...]
What a brilliant idea!
Brian Cashman for Executive of the Year! What a brilliant idea, signing Sidney Ponson off the baseball scrap heap. Sir Sidney is The Man! What the hell were the Texas Rangers thinking, letting this guy go?
Last night, at least, the journeyman right-hander made Cashman look brilliant for taking a chance on him, throwing 6 shutout [...]
