Eli's MLB Rumors:
Free agent catcher Ivan Rodriguez is starting to draw more interest, SI.com's Jon Heyman is reporting. The Marlins, Giants, Twins, and Astros are all interested in Pudge, who is hitting .545 with 2 HR for Puerto Rico in the WBC. The Giants and Twins both have catchers penciled in, but Joe Mauer is getting a second opinion on his back and Rodriguez could start at first with Bengie Molina staying at catcher. The Marlins have faith in young catcher John Baker, who is hitting .417 ((8-for-17) so far this Spring. Baker hit .299 with 5 HR last season, and is just 28 years old. The Astros make the most sense for Pudge, but have had to make serious cuts that go back to December, so they might not even have the money to sign Pudge.

Don't Overlook Pudge
Before we all ignore Ivan Rodriguez in our fantasy drafts, perhaps it's time we give him a chance to redeem himself for a poor 2007. Batting leadoff for a stacked Tigers lineup on Monday, the 36-year old backstop hit his third homerun of the spring.
Once the best fantasy catcher in the American...
Who's behind the plate?
So the Toronto Blue Jays have lost two spots on the roster, and they're trying to figure out who's going to fill the catcher position. Guess it's going to be either Bengie Molina or Gregg Zaun, if they get their wish. So who's going to get the ticket back this year? Personally I'm thinking they shoul...
Inge May Want to Rethink That Trade Demand
Filed under: Detroit, Tigers, Pirates, MLB RumorsI fully understand why Brandon Inge would tell the Tigers that he wants to be traded. With Miguel Cabrera in town, he's not going to get any playing time at third, and making a position change back to catcher so he can back up Ivan Rodriguez isn't that...
Ivan Rodriguez Belts Two Homers In Spring Win
Ivan Rodriguez appears to be getting used to hitting in the eight slot. He led the way in an eleven run, twenty hit attack that saw the Tigers demolish the Astros 11-4. Rodriguez finished with three RBIs and the two homers bring his spring total to six. Carlos Guillen had a team high three hits...
Twins, Giants interested in Pudge Rodriguez
The Twins and Giants have emerged as potential candidates for free agent Pudge Rodriguez.
The new possibilities, Minnesota and San Francisco, were identified by a source with a National League team in the bidding.
The Twins’ interest may depend on the health of star catcher Joe Mauer, who’s had a back issue early in camp. The Giants [...]
The Small White Ball proposal for fixing the Home Run Derby
One week ago, Josh Hamilton put on a home-run derby hitting display that might never be matched again - both for the total amount of those long balls, total distance of those shots (12,458 feet if you're counting) and the total story that went into the package that encompassed that 30-minute clinic the Texas Rangers outfielder and his 71-year-old high school coach Clay Council...
What about Pudge?
One of the greatest catchers in the history of the game remains unsigned. Ivan Rodriguez is no doubt ticketed to the Hall of Fame 5 years after he retires. Two of the greatest catchers in the history of the game entered the league just one year apart from one another. Pudge joined the Rangers in 1991 and the next year Mike Piazza won the Rookie of the Year Award with the Dodgers...
Minnesota Twins Offseason Recap | Joe Mauer Has Kidney Surgery
The Minnesota Twins have been relatively quiet this offseason, but
making a play for Adrian Beltre to be their 3B and help in the middle
of the order could be this team's ticket to an AL Central crown. Also,
Joe Mauer recently had successful kidney surgery.
Minnesota Twins 2008 Predictions:
Ok, with Denard Span being sent down to AAA and Joe Nathan being inked to a 4 year, $47 M payday, the Minnesota Twins opening day roster is rounding into shape. Here are my predictions for the upcoming season. The opening day lineup will look like this:
1. Carlos Gomez, CF
