The Sports Point:
"Everywhere I play, even now, people still yell, 'Bartman! Bartman!' I feel really bad for the kid. You know what the funny thing is? I wouldn't have caught it, anyway."
-Moises Alou on the infamous Steve Bartman foul ball incident in Game 6 of the 2003 NLCS
Why didn't Alou come out and say this in the months or even the year after the play happened? He probably could have saved Bartman a lot of grief if he had and his reaction after the play did not help Bartman either. The interview with Bartman from Bugs and Cranks after the jump is an interesting read, check it out.

B&C Exclusive: The Steve Bartman Interview
In a series of e-mail exchanges arranged by one of my childhood friends (who lived in the same freshmen dorm as Steve at Notre Dame), Bugs & Cranks presents the first at-length interview with infamous Cubs fan Steve Bartman.
Alou comes clean, lets Bartman off the hook
Moises Alou to AP reporter...
"Everywhere I play, even now, people still yell, 'Bartman! Bartman!' I feel really bad for the kid...I wouldn't have caught it, anyway."
We know Cubs fans will never forget, but are they ready to forgive Steve-O. All the guy wanted was a game ball from the NLCS.
Kosuke Fukudome: "A Star is Born"
A great piece on the memory of Kosuke Fukudome's first major league home run.
TOP 10 FAVORITE METS
Having been a Mets fan since 1973, I starting thinking about my favorite players and I have put together this little list.
A New Hero in the Windy City
Kosuke Fukudome had a day to remember in his major league debut with the Chicago Cubs. He finished 3-3 with a walk, double, and 3-run game-tying home run in the bottom of the 9th inning.
Quote of the Day: Ernie Banks on his statue
"It's a miracle that I made it from there to here. When I had my number retired, I thought it was the greatest honor because it was the first number ever retired by this franchise. It will still be there 100 years from now, and that's how I feel about this statue. I know it'll be here 100 years from now. It's a miracle. But it is proof that if you find satisfaction in your life,...
Pedro Martinez Injury Update
Summarizing the situation with Pedro Martinez' injury for the Mets.
Pedro Martinez Leaves Game: Fantasy Impact
Pedro Martinez had to leave his first start of the season against the Florida Marlins in the fourth inning with a hamstring injury. We explain what this means for Pedro and your fantasy team and when to expect him back.
What Had Happened Was… 4.2
Pedro Martinez couldn't fulfill his role as the Number Two punch after Johan Santana. However, you can't blame Martinez totally as his left hamstring strained itself of its own volition. Apparently, it was a move in rebellion to playing second fiddle to Santana's left hamstring.
A Tale of two games at Wrigley Field
The Milwaukee Brewers took round one of sixteen versus the Chicago Cubs this season with a 4-3, 10 inning victory on Monday afternoon. Newly acquired relief pitcher, Eric Gagne picked up the win for the Crew after blowing a three run lead for the Brewers in the bottom of the ninth. David Riske came on to work the tenth to save the game for Gagne.
Figgy on the road
Pedro Martinez must be heading to the DL, no matter what the results of his MRI are, because his replacement, Nelson Figueroa, is almost in Miami.
And the Mets were Worried about Pedro's Arm!
The NY Mets are sure glad they got Johan Santana today as Pedro Martinez told manager Willie Randolph that he might have heard a "pop" in his hammy on that last pitch he threw. Barring a miracle, it looks as if Mr. Martinez might be going back on the DL. The question is, will it be the 15 day variety or longer? Good thing they didn't trade Jorge Sosa as some reports...
El Duque to pitch in minor league game
Orlando Hernandez is slated to throw in a minor league game for the Mets class A St. Lucie team in it's opener on Thursday.
