So much for Sammy Sosa having kept his alleged use of steroids at arm's length. The New York Times is reporting that Sosa was among the group of 104 big-leaguers who tested positive in 2003.

Former slugger Sammy Sosa reportedly tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug in 2003. The New York Times reported the failed test Tuesday on its Web site, citing lawyers familiar with the case. The newspaper did not identify the drug. Sosa is sixth on baseball's career home run list with 609. He has not played in the majors since 2007.

Days after Fresno State third baseman Tom Mendonca was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the second round, he earned his second All-American award of 2009. Baseball America announced their 2009 All-American team and placed Mendonca as the third team third baseman.
