MLB Pro Blog: The Rangers activated Gerald Laird off the disabled list on Saturday after he missed a month because of a pulled hamstring muscle. He made his first start on Sunday and continues to draw interest from both the Reds and the Yankees. The Rangers want top young pitching prospects in return and that's keeping any deal from getting done right now. The word is that the Rangers are pretty much offering any of their catchers up for pitching not just Laird. I would be interested in pretty much any of them besides Laird because he's only marginally better than David Ross, who's marginally better than me. Career numbers of the other catchers Jarrod Saltalamacchia Taylor Teagarden Max Ramirez Personally Taylor Teagarden would be the guy I would want. Although he has already been through a Tommy John surgery.
