Just minutes before the deadline, Billy Wagner has agreed to waive his no-trade clause and will be sent to the Boston Red Sox. Boston claimed Wagner off waivers from the Mets and had until 1:30pm today to complete a deal for the former closer who will be used a setup man for Jonathan Papelbon.
Wagner had originally balked at the deal, asking the Red Sox to agree to decline his option for next year because Wagner wants to be a closer. Boston didn't want to give up control of Wagner but ...
