Jose Reyes reached the 200-hit plateau with a bases-loaded triple in the Mets' win over the Cubs. Reyes has 65 triples over the last four seasons. Over the last 80 years, only Paul Waner and Earle Combs had that many triples over a four-year span. Combs' highest four-year total was 81 from 1927 to 1930; Waner's highest total was 74 from 1926 to 1929. Reyes is only the second player in Mets history to record 200 hits in a season.
