Eli's MLB Rumors:
The Dodgers have decided to non-tender closer Takashi Saito. Saito has seen success since coming to the major leagues. He is 12-7 in 180 appearances with a 1.95 ERA and 245 strikeouts, however, his recent elbow problems have made teams very worried about whether he can pitch or not. However, because of his success, could find work fairly easily. The Tigers, Rockies, and Cardinals, among others could make a play for Saito.

Take a risk on Saito...
During the playoffs I made a case for Takashi Saito as a closer, since then it's been reported that he has elbow problems which are enhanced by his funky delivery. Saito would not re-sign with the Dodgers on an incentive laden contract, but if the market dries up for him, could you image him as ...

Takashi Saito Sent Packing By Dodgers
When the Dodgers failed to tender Takashi Saito a contract last Friday, the 38-year-old closer became a free agent. If this had happened before the 2008 season Jonathan Broxton?s name would have immediately vaulted up towards the top of the NL closers list. But, since Broxton?s BB/9 ballooned in ...
MLB Non-Tender List
Here is a look at the MLB Non-Tender List:Here are some interesting names on that list:Ty Wigginton, Astros: Wigginton hit .285 with 23 HR and a .350 OBP in 111 games for the Astros. GM Ed Wade informed me at the meetings that the team has had to make serious cuts, so going to arbitration with Wigginton is probably too risky for them. Wigginton came into September hitting .303, but...

Encarnacion tendered, Belisle, Majewski not
No real surprise on Edwin getting tendered a contract Walt seems to be high on the guy from the sound of interviews. Majewski sucks, but Belisle was a 50/50 thing in most peoples eyes. I think he can be a decent pitcher if he goes to the NL West. Maybe the Dodgers give him a look, or the Padres because they are cheap asses and Belisle would likely sign a minor league deal.

The last few days were filled with rumors that the Washington Nationals and Colorado Rockies were prepared to swap Tim Redding and Willy Taveras.
